Fall Allstars

We had the opportunity  to explore the many sides of autumn leaves this week. We watched the leaves fly in the wind, we picked them up from the ground, and compared all the colors and shapes. We heard the loud rattle as we walked through deep piles of leaves, and stumbled and tripped because the leaves were covering up our trail!

We painted leaves and printed them, we painted leaves with tempera paint, and we glued and added google eyes to leaf pictures. In all of these experiences, the children looked closely at leaves. They heard and felt the texture of the leaves, they felt how brittle dried and pressed leaves were, they smelled the earthiness of the leaves, and they saw the different colors and shapes of leaves as they worked.

We are growing as a group of children, learning to value each other, follow our routines, and join together on occasion.   We see imaginations taking hold, turns being taken, and children taking care of themselves and each other.

We found a great supply of milkweed and spent a glorious time sending the seeds out to the wind!

Until Next Time,
Michele
