The weather has helped us to continue our study of ice-and we are getting curiouser and curiouser.
We wrote a letter to Matt this week after we saw him putting salt on the ice outside. He is going to come and help us understand, especially, if ICE is a crystal.
We created our own ice blocks with colored water. Will said that we would have to wait ONE DAY and he was correct! The ice was ready for us to hold and look at in one day.
We had "icebergs" in our water table for salt and color explorations.
The outside has become very icy, and the stomping on cracking ice was very fun!
Groundhog Day brought some shadow fun to our classroom !
We used a projector and traced each child's shadow together with everyone's.
And, finally, we made ICE CREAM, simply, with half and half and ziploc bags, ice and salt and some muscle work.
YUM!
Until Next Time,
Michele
