RAINBOWS have been all the rage in the Hemlock Classroom this fall, so much so that we conducted a study of rainbows, including the science of rainbows, songs and stories about rainbows, and rainbow art.
We celebrated the culmination of our RAINBOW STUDY with a party-but this was not just ANY party, it was a PARTY planned for and conducted by the children. We had many discussions about inclusiveness, giving generously, and being a "host". In a way, the party was a STUDY of what a party is!
We made invitations, decorations, and gifts !
We distributed the invitations to our specials teachers and to the preK classrooms, and talked about activities that we should do for our party. We baked cupcakes with rainbow sprinkles for everyone to share! The children agreed that a craft, rainbow blocks, and also singing our rainbow song would all be such fun.
Our party was a great success! We had so many pictures taken, I'll just share a lot here. We know what it takes to make a party!
