We are in the midst of our rainbow study, which means a lot of hands on experiences with light, colors, art projects, and science stories. We tried on "rainbow prism" glasses, and discovered that rainbows are everywhere that there is light!
We listened to a song "Arco Iris" while we dripped colors into water and watched them blend in the light.
Our art included gluing all the colors of the rainbow to white paper-in any arrangement that we wished.
We made "lookers" with cellophane and rubber bands and tubes. The children decided which two colors they wished to use.
Even our walks outside include rainbow colors!
We have many rainbow books to enjoy, but our FAVORITE story is
A Rainbow of My Own, by Don Freeman. We have a goldfish bowl of water in the window in the hopes that we will create a rainbow or OUR OWN!
Until Next Time,
Michele
