Fall is Here, We Love IT!

Fall in the PreK classroom is a reflection of all that is happening outdoors.  The colors that we use mimic the colors of fall-orange, red, brown, yellow, green.  We take long walks outside and look for mushrooms, and  identify and gather different leaves (oak and maple and maybe hickory) and nuts. We have been looking closely at the maple tree outside of our classroom window, and we drew and painted what we saw. We will gather drawings of the tree through the seasons as we observe the changes.  We use apples and pumpkins in our art, cook applesauce, and explore the insides and outsides of pumpkins.  We print, cut, glue and create using our leaf collection. As we've noticed the flowers dying and creating seeds, we are adding seeds to our fall science table.

Our books reflect the season -we are reading about squirrels, pumpkins, mushrooms, and falling leaves and the season of Fall.

Our approach is hands on in every way for the children to experience fall with all of our senses.

Here is a medley of fall images for you to enjoy!

Until Next Time,
Michele
