Week of the Young Child!

This week was a welcome back from break and a celebration of week of the young child! Each day we celebrated the wonderfulness of our young children here at school, and the children embraced each celebration happily.

Monday was a color mixing day-

Tuesday was all about being terrific! We asked each child "what makes you terrific?" (we did need to define "terrific" first-one child said "terrific is terrific!"

Wednesday was a little whacky.....

we even had a parade!

Thursday was mindful and thoughtful and kind.

(this is how we meditate)

Friday will be fun and food!

We are studying birds and the signs of spring also, and the birds are showing up in great numbers to our feeder.

We have talked about nests and constructed them with glue instead of spiderwebs or mud, and craft material.  We made eggs with air dry clay and will paint them next week. We held eggs in our hands to feel how strong they are, and looked at eggs of different shapes and colors.

We had a long walk to look for nests.....with special looking tubes.

can you spot the nest?

and it looks like some children are constructing helpful nests with moss in our crabapple trees.

Until Next Time,
Michele
